New beginnings

I had a somewhat tragic experience the other day. It's not the first time it's happened, and I'm sure it won't be the last, but it is one of those things that remains just as painful the last time it happens as the first. No, I'm not talking about a breakup- well, actually, scratch that: I suppose you could call it a breakup.

After looking at a sweater that has been sitting in my closet for many months (possibly years) without being worn, I decided to face the fact that I don't wear it because it doesn't fit me well (curse my long torso!). So I gave it a moment of silence in respect for the many hours spent knitting it, and...
