I woke up recently on a Friday with a strong desire to cancel all my piano lessons so that I could just stay home and knit. If I were to be honest, this happens on a lot of mornings... Not because I dislike my work, or because I don't get enough knitting time during the week, but sometimes the urge just hits more strongly than usual.
Fortunately, I made myself get up and get out the door, and ended up having a fantastic day. Partly because on Fridays I teach here:
Also, one of my students had to cancel at the last minute, which meant that I had time for walking and knitting:
Not a bad way to spend the day.

New beginnings
I had a somewhat tragic experience the other day. It's not the first time it's happened, and I'm sure it won't be the last, but it is one of those things that remains just as painful the last time it happens as the first. No, I'm not talking about a breakup- well, actually, scratch that: I suppose you could call it a breakup.
After looking at a sweater that has been sitting in my closet for many months (possibly years) without being worn, I decided to face the fact that I don't wear it because it doesn't fit me well (curse my long torso!).
